Title: selling some custom made badges soon
Post by: theman53 on April 27, 2011, 09:30:38 am: Hello all I made some custom badges that say "turbo diesel"

They are not factory and will have to be put on with some automotive VHB tape or trim tape or similar adhesive. This is what they look like and this one was for my mom. Guys that rock this would probably be a little different.

I am just going to make them a metallic silver for most.

Wanting 10.00 each plus shipping. Let me know.

I can do them unpainted, but they are made of a NON UV stable poly ureathane, which means they will yellow over time if not painted. The painting procedure I would use makes it part of the poly and won't peel or yellow. They only way for the color to come off is to dig the plastic away.

I will do a painted silver and black for 15.00 plus shipping. The process didn't work as planned, but they came out ok. I may post a pic of one wednesday that I colored the black with a sharpie. It looks great but will quickly fade without real paint I am sure. I am just painting the silver on. It will hold well, but not as good as I had expected.

Wait until you see them and then you may think otherwise. I didn't have the black paint so I had to use the marker just to see what it looked like. I don't know if I made it clear but by White that is UNPAINTED. That is how they come out when I cast them...and cheaper.

had some time :D The white and the silver and black look good. The etching of the other just silver ones didn't come out correctly. I don't know if you can see it but what I wanted was it etched in permanently and it is eating away the material. That is all I have so far and the black isn't paint it is marker so it is no good, but you get the idea ;D

These aren't perfect, BUT they look great compared to the original badge I have which is just flat black now.

That would be harder since it is flexible. I would have to make at least 3 molds to get it right and then find a stable rubber/plastic compound to do it. I will put that one on the back burner for now :D

BUT I think you could box 10 of them for 30.00 so someone needs to buy some and redistribute :D

I have 2 badges that didn't come out so well. They have a blast looking pattern on them and I can't sell them for 15.00. They are seconds.
For those 2 I would take 10.00 plus shipping. I tried to get pics and it won't show the bad spots correctly...it would look like they were fine, but they aren't. It is one of those deals from 10 foot away no one would notice, but up close they look weathered.

SO 10.00 for each of the 2 second quality.

I should have some more this weekend as I made some more blanks to paint.

There is one guy left I will do one painted, then that's all.
