Title: Quick water separator question

I want need to know what size fine i need to drain the water separator next to the fuel tank in 1986 1.6 N/A Golf.I got this car used and i have a Bentley for it and read up on how to do it.I have a feeling the person i got it form never drained them.Thanks for any help

to drain it just open it.  it's like a bottle cap.  it twists open.  if it is tight you can lightly grip it with some pliers (covering the cap with a cloth so you don't tear up the plastic) and loosen it that way.  You don't need to open it that much, just enough to get some liquid flowing out.  When you get diesel coming out, close it again

I kno what i have to do i just need to know what size line i need to drain the one on the furl tanks thanks

never used a line.  I usually drain it into a cut down margarine container
