Title: What to lube speedo cable with
Post by: rabbitman on March 31, 2011, 08:05:36 pm
My cable is about a year old but on cold mornings it sounds horrible. On the package it said not to lube it but I think I might have accidentally got some wd-40 type stuff in it thus ruining whatever the manufacture put on it.

Has anyone found something that works good?

Your best bet would likely be something dry, like powdered graphite.  Your local locksmith will sell it, if you can't find it at an auto store.  Good for parts that need lubrication to move very freely even in cold temps and not gum up or attract dirt... locks, tumblers, speedo cables...

Damn. Waldon beat me to it. Powdered graphite is what I'd use as well. Its good stuff. So, PGx2
