Title: need a good place for replacement parts
Post by: gitkrunk on March 28, 2011, 12:01:10 pm
hey guys im looking to work on a 1.6TD block i got for my samurai, it needs some work.
I seem kind of scattered in finding parts no One website seems to have everything all at once. Kind of import when you live in Alaska can you get charged out the A... for shipping.

Looking to rebuild the bottom end and head, need gaskets and bolts and nuts and studs and all the little odds and ends

Any places you guys recommend that have everything i would need? OEM is nice but OEM price isn't. I'm not against quality for cheap =]

Thanks lots

I use autohausaz.com for a lot of stuff, free shipping on orders over $50 helps a lot and if I'm not quite at $50 they sell fluids/chemicals etc to get me over the limit. I do not know if free shipping is continental US only.

http://www.europartsdirect.com/ (offer items autohausaz don't have)

http://www.germanautoparts.com/

Don't get me wrong...I buy most of my stuff from autohausaz, but, europarts seems to have a lot of little things like you are asking for. You need to have patience to find things in the europarts site....just takes longer. But, they have really good pictures of items.

Tomorrow, I get a gas engine out of the machine shop which I am going through. I had to order parts through 4 seperate places to get everything I needed. And, yes, the freight from three of the places was aggrevating to have to pay. Sorry, no easy answers.
