Title: Pump question..
Post by: TD100 on March 01, 2011, 08:15:09 am

I've had a pump for some time now off a Land Rover 300 tdi and really need to get back on to this project. How can I remove the hub that mounted the timing sprocket to it? I assumed it was just pressed on and even after allowing it to soak for a day or two in PB Blast, it still will not come off. I've used a MAP torch as well as breaking off one of the jaws on my puller, nothing will budge. I am afraid to go any further for fear of damaging it. Just want to remove it so I can put on the sprocket off my 1Z.

 Thank you!

if you use a puller again, hit the puller with a hammer, right on the end of it, inline with the shaft..

just kinda tap it tho, dont beat the crap out of it trying to get it off.

sometimes they are on there SOO tight that they come off in 2 pieces..
