Title: Group Buy: Repro Rubber Seals Mk2 Jetta 4 Door
Post by: jb86 on February 20, 2011, 06:36:44 pm
my 1991 jetta 4 door was painted last week. made a few rust repairs and and stripped it down to paint it properly. the body shop replaced the roof skin with a roof with a sun roof.
painting indigo metallic blue.
i went looking for window rubber seals.
cant get anywhere.
i found a member on a forum planning a group buy for all of the rubber seals - windshield, back window, doors, sunroof, side window seals and roof gutter pcs.
a minimum of 200 pcs is required. the prices are down right cheap.
the pcs fit any 1988-1992 4door jetta
send me a PM if interested.

I'd like more info...

What forum? need pics, prices etc..

Got a link?

Also if you're suggesting a group buy, this needs to go in the classifieds.

FYI the original GB is here - Ends  2/22 or 2/23
http://www.louisvillevw.org/forums/showthread.php?41609-GB-FAW-Jetta-4-Door-Gaskets-and-Roof-Moldings-for-Big-Door

contact him via email asap if interested - [email protected]

From the OP

"..The rain trays are hard semi gloss on the outside, but have the exact same shape as the OEM pieces and are very good quality.
I have not installed mine, but if you search FAW Jetta or fifteen52 on vwvortex you can see the installed pics of the window seals.
I did convince them to make the inner door seals, and hatch seal as those are just longer versions of the Jetta ones.
These are also not reproductions, they are OEM FAW Jetta pieces.  I don't know if they would do the 2-door window seals.
I am also placing the order Tuesday or Wednesday as I have a lot of people waiting who have made payments."

Any chance there will be same said seals for a mk2 Golf 4-door?  I'm not home so I can't check ETKA to see which ones interchange but my 86 Golf needs ALL of them.   ::)

Thanks-

Brendan

i think the front seals are the same (windshield, all 4 doors)  except for the gutters, rear window seal, and the trunk/hatch seal..

so, no, its not exactly the same set, but a portion of the seals are the same..

For what it's worth, I would be interested in the Golf roof gutters as well.

Thanks, Bryan!

So, I'm curious about the windshield seal. How does that work? The rear is a press-in rubber seal. The front is glued-in and comes with impregnated metal. Do you have these? I'm definitely gonna hit you up on the 4 window seals.

Please let me know.

I have a sample of the rear.  I have not seen the front seal yet.  I only had a few people order it.

The reason I ask, is because I'm nervous that it may be Eur0-spec. They didn't use glue-in windshields for most of Europe. Not sure why.

For $35 I may just take a chance.

Any idea if they can get B2 Quantum/Passat/Santana seals????? I know they still make something over there that looks strikingly similar to the Quantum. I think they still call it a Santana.

I could really use some window seals: Windshield, scrapers, etc. No-one makes them here.

The order is shipping any day, don't think I have time to add quantum stuff, or ask.

I am pretty sure it will be the non glue type seal.
