Title: 1991 Jetta GL Chest/Shoulder Belt Assembly Needed
Post by: ftm1776 on February 09, 2011, 01:23:14 pm
I need a 1991 Jetta GL Chest/Shoulder Belt Assembly. Driver's side.    NOT THE LAP BELT ASSEMBLY.
(Addendum: Although the lap belt clasp is attached to this assembly)

I need the one that goes from the center console reel, across the chest and shoulder, and buckles into a receptacle on the door. It must buckle in order to start the engine.

The VW part number (on the belt near the buckle) is 167880705B

Does anyone have this part for sale?? Cost??

Thanks

I think I might have a couple lying around. I'll have to check.

Well, I know I have at least one of them. Probably two.
Hopefully, you can find one from someone else though. They both just happen to be in a place which is going to take some serious effort to get at them and will have to charge for my time.....that's all.

I, too, have thrown so many of these away over the years. Why do you want to keep this system of belts, anyway? You could convert to the less annoying type.

Let me know if you run out of alternatives.

Danny,
Let me know what you find.
I need the latch/retractor assembly for the driver's side. The one near the hand brake lever.
Thanks Thomas

DakotaKid,
What other belt system is there??
Where can I go to take a look???
Can you suggest a link that I can go to??
Thanks, Thomas

I meant by simply installing a standard belt out of an earlier Jetta or Golf. Where there would only be one clip/one long belt.
Your ignition interlock could be dealt with by wiring modification. It can all be done if you want to get away from the two belt system....that's all.
