Title: Not really related.
Post by: Powered by Spearco on February 02, 2011, 11:47:10 pm
So I just wanted to show what I find when working on cars at work. Its obvious that someone who's careless in the work they do has left me with a real problem. As soon as I pulled the intake off, I saw that the old gaskets have been shmutzed with goop.

The car had no running issues, just a coolant leak under the intake manifold at the aux. coolant pump.
Got an intake coming tomarrow, used ,but cheaper than welding and possably cracking again.

I thought a little RTV could fix anything?

BTW, what does a used intake manifold for a 2.7t cost these days?

We got a used intake, TB, both thermo couples, N75 valve and the Y pipe , plus the stupid little wire extension lead to the MAP, all for $150.

The intake gaskets are the same for NA 2.8 and Turbo 2.7.. Super easy job to R&R the pump and or the intake manifold or even the SAI pump.
