Hello,
My car is overheating oddly.
I fill with coolant drive for maybe ten minutes, coolant light comes on and within ten seconds the temp guage is at the top and its lost all water.
So thought water pump, checked water pump, its fine.
All hoses getting hot from top of rad, bottom of rad, to and from heaters.
Now the confusing part, drove home off boost, and it lost no coolant and didnt overheat!?
Could there be a problem with the turbo?
Getting a compression test done tomorrow evening to check its not the head gasket.
Any help appreciated, thanks.

im guessing a cracked head. maybe a blown head gasket..

If the head was cracked would it not leak from the head?
It is just blowing the coolant straight out of the expansion cap. No leaks in the system anywhere else.

its going to be cracked from the combustion chamber to the water jacket. not like an externally visible crack..
cracked heads are not something that just show themselves, unless its a really bad crack, or its right on the deck.
there are combustion gasses getting into your coolant.. thats why it blows all of it out, then over heats..

And is being exacerbated by the air the turbo is forcing into the engine.

Well, your in the UK.. The engine is in front of none of us.. for us to know for sure it is the HG is impossible.
You have been given a few good ideas as to what is happening, and to what may be causing it.. whether it be a broken HG or a cracked head..
Solution? Take head off regardless, and see whats going on.

Is it still possible its the head gasket?
I would remove the head first, have it tested for cracks and warping and then put it all together again with a fresh headgasket. A great oportunity to remove some soot and carbon buildup as well.

Could be the head lifting under boost, if the head wasn't torqued right after 500 miles (or was it kms?). Knackered thermostat might boil out the coolant under high power and heat load. Knackered pressure cap not sealing properly? But gasket death is likely.

Stephan, pull the head. My guess is that your head gasket (they seem to have a limited number of hot/ cold cycles) has decided to leak, only under compression cycle which remember is high. This is the first sign of the head gasket failing. That will cause your cooling system to behave as you describe. Parts are cheap which is a bonus if you can do the work yourself.
