power steering on a mk1 has got to be the biggest waste of time ever.. unless you are disabled like my mom..

my mk1 is easier to turn than my toyota. and the toyota has GOOD power steering.

I switched from power to manual on my mk2 and didn't really care for it. Plus, I would like to autox/amateur rally eventually and prefer power steering.

Anyhoo, let me know how much you want for the complete a/c (air blending box, compressor, evap, lines, etc etc.) and when you get the power steering taken out.

Remember folks, the '84 has the plastic fender liners, the leaf screen over the hood vents, the plastic windshield surrounds, 3-bolt sun visors, the front bumper with gap cover, 100mph speedo, probably other things I forgot,.. most of which can only be found on the '84,.. some only on the '83/'84 Rabbits.
The '84 Rabbit is my favorite.

Bolt-through-wings?
What trany does it have?

It does have bolt thru wing windows but the rubber is kinda dried out unfortunately. it's a 4 spd trans don't know the code.

does it turn 4000 in 4th gear at 60mph?
or 2000 in 4th at 60mph?

the low geared trans is a GC usually, and the higher geared one is gonna be a GL or a 4A most likely.

I don't know it doesn't have a tach but I'm pretty sure it's the tall geared one cause it will cruise at 70 on the interstate. The flat part lol. I'd go out and look but the snow is piliing up and the ground is frozen solid. I'm not 20 yrs old anymore that's for sure.

Probably the 4A trany.
Seems like Ashleyroe has one, it needs a special reverse switch compared to others but is a great trany.
Was I right on the 100mph speedo?
 If so,.. how much?

I'm interested in the thermostat housing assuming it's aluminum and the coolant flange on the front of the head if it has a big port 22x1.5 on it, I think it should being and factory a/c car. LMK
