Title: tell tale signs of AAZ condition
Post by: erice1984 on December 21, 2010, 09:41:06 pm
If I were to buy an AAZ, are there any signs that I can look out for before purchasing, that would indicate bad things about the engine?

Like what is the deal with cracks between valves on the heads?

What is the deal with low mileage diesels in canada?

less miles = harder miles? more engine on/off cycles?    No idea what to think.

hey.....

I've seen some of your posts in the Vortex-ontario regional forums.

Usually with the lower milage diesels, they tend to have lots of on-off cycling as opposed to highway miles.

either way, it's not BAD or GOOD.... you'll definately want to check the condition of the head itself.

Get a 22mm 12 point socket at turn the crank pulley back and forth to check for any play. However if it starts up easily cold and hot, idles nice right away. you're probably okay
