putting a fresh 1.6 NA in an 89 Jetta, looking for suggestions for a free flow exhaust setup for it. Don't want to go to big, maybe use the stock manifold with an RV code gasser downpipe and a Bosal exhaust for a 1.8 16V Jetta. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Not sure if the stock diesel exhaust manifold will flow enough. Want the engine to breathe better for the Giles pump that's on the way.
thanks

The stock mk2 diesel exhaust manifold will flow all you need for a modded N/a. Take the toilet bowl downpipe off and take a look at the actual opening inside the manifold, its 2.5" when I measured mine. Its the jump down to 1.75" that's the killer.. Make it 2.5 back. And then give it a Ram/CAI

What Jeremy said.. Do you have a decent custom exhaust shop in your area? That seems to be the best route to go on these.. You'll probably want a decent muffler.. NA's are LOUD with glass packs and "turbo" mufflers...
