Title: Can I use this Oil?

My dad has an extra Gallon of QuakerState 5W30 and i was wondering if I can use it in my TDI, I'm Due for my oil change,

as long as its CF CS something like that "C" rated.. its for compression ignition..

my bet is its sm, sc, or sf rated (for a gasser)

Not without  some additives. Better to get the proper stuff. Yes it'll work, but if it's not rated for diesel, your oil will get all coked up, among other things

The turbo will cook for sure this time catlin ;)

You can use diesel oil in a gasser but not gasser oil in a diesel.
