Title: 83 Rabbit and 86 golf dr axle same???

The rabbit is a 83 4 speed and the golf is a 86 5 speed . My dr side outer joint is bad and I have a rabbit for parts will they enterchange?????

depends what transmission you have in the Golf.  The rabbit will have 90mm flanges on the 4spd.  The Golf may have 100mm flanges depending on what 5spd is in it.

Thanks, I changed it tonight had to it was clicking going straight  :lol: I called the parts stores and they said it wouldn't work. I figured I had to take it out any ways, what do you know it was the same :D  :D
