Bought a K14 and it turned out to be unusable because of extreme rust to the "bee hive" actuator and it looks like it was frozen open anyways but the turbo itself is good :'(

Anybody out there looking to sell a spare wastegate actuator or even a un-rusted core that i could try to open and recrimp?
Please name your asking price.
Thanks

I wasn't going to reply because the one I have is slightly worn, like something rubbed on it for a long time.
But then I noticed you've been looking for 4 months. I'll get you a picture and you can decide. Price
would be minimal.

I also have a spare wastegate for a k14/24, if serge doesnt have you you need let me know.
Thumbs up for serge though, just got a AAZ inst. cluster from him, awsome condition and fast shipping!! :)

The piston measures ~26mm across but i don't know how tall it is without disassembling...i am willing to try to switch out the pistons between the bodies of a k14 and k24 since this actuator is completely junk...might not help but can't hurt.

If memory serves, to swap the valve you need to un-crimp the can and re-crimp it to assemble. Not completely un-doable, but not easy either.
I just did this, but took the easy route. I just took my zip cut and zipped as little of the cripped edge as possible then worked the rest off, welede it back together with small tacks to keep the heat down. Should work as good as new...I hope. And the only diffence between the k14 and 24 wastegates is the valve diameter. Everything esle is the same

Could you grind a larger seat to fit a K24 valve into a K14 housing? I haven't ever handled a k24 to compare its dimensions to a K14 (maybe the k24 valve is the smaller of the two).

Not to steal someone else's thunder, but
whichever wastegate Rusty Caddy doesen't
take, I'd be interested in buying one.
I have the same problem with a rusted out
"beehive".

The only difference in the valves themselves are the valve "face" (the part that contacts the seat) not sure what its actually called. The K24 of course having the larger valve face. The "shanks" or shafts of the valves are the exact same. Again only difference being the K24 has a longer "leg"
(the part of the valve between the "shank" and the valve face)
The honey combs on both K14 and K24 are the same along with the interalls are all the same. Im pretty sure the springs have the same PSI rating also.
I can try and get you all the dimensions along with pictures if I try really hard tomorrow :P

I have a K14 wastegate avail. the valve travel adjustment is broken off though. I will see if its repairable this weekend. ( boosting around 25PSI currently stuck in its position)

25 psi is when the gate blows open on its own..
dont even need a boost signal hooked up for it to work..
