Title: 85 Golf speedometer cluster?????

will the cluster from a gas car fit my diesel? mine does not have a tach but i would like to have one. my odometer does not work on mine. if it will work, what years and what about the glow plug light.  thanks  Lamar

I've got a Quantum cluster with a diesel tach, but I don't know if that would fit in yer Golf.
Anybody out there know  :?:

i put an '83 gti cluster in my "82 straight diesel rabbit, the odometer/speedometer worked fine, but the tach just bounced around after i tried hooking it up in a couple of questionable spots. i believe there is a way to hook up a tach, but i can't find the info

I thought I remembered a more detailed one on how to make the optical one which ran off the injector pump pully, but I can't find it now.

I went the alternator with w signal and gas tach with signal converter route in my pickup.  I did a write up on it here:
