Ok I got my turbo pump last week. I want to replace all the seals before I use it on my td project this summer.
I got the seal kit "DGK 121". I read on this forum that it's not the good kit for the vw TD pump. Is this true? If so where can I get the good kit.
I'd like to know what's the best way to clean the outside and inside of the pump (internal moving parts included). Which product should I use? Lint free tissue is a no brainer tho...
When putting it back together, is using engine oil a good idea (10w 30 weight) or I should use diesel to lube things up. Diesel stinks and I don't really want to stink up my appartment :?
Thanks in advance for the help!!!

I'd use biodiesel myself. or maybe Canola oil. Something that I'm happy getting all over my hands, and that the engine will run on. 10W30 seems a bit high viscosity to keep the IP happy to me, and I still don't like getting it all over my hands.

Dunno about the seal kit, but there are many people that have run ATF through their pump, so that may be an option for your rebuild.

Good tip on the canola oil. I'll use that instead of engine oil. Thanks!

Yeah I'd really love to but that would put a rather big hole in my budget. Maybe I'll delay the seal replacement and save some money to send it to him.

I'd say, if it's not leaking, don't 'fix' it. Give it a shot and see how it works.

hi
i wouldn't take it apart if i were u. u might end up costing yourself
allot for someone to fix it properly.
like Dr D said if it isn't leaking now don't touch it.
VW kit # 1 467 010 059
but like i said don't try this at home kids.
