Post by: kevinm on September 24, 2010, 08:27:53 pm
Can you grind the ports into the 'D' shape to make it work.  Reason i ask is i picked up the 1.6 Passenger Custom intake of a fellow board member and dont really want to keep my head as its all cracked in all 4 of the precups and then some....

Depends if there is enough meat around the port. I needed to weld out and JB weld [that was more for esthetics] and then ground the shape following the new "d" shape gasket

if you are replacing the head, why not just replace it with the right head?

does the AAZ intake ports really make that much of a difference? even with a choked up 1.6 manifold? surely the ports in the 1.9 manifold are bigger..
