Title: 2.5 tdi engine to gaser gearbox will it go

i have got the chance of a vw transporter /Caravelle 96 model but it is a gaser 2.5 5 pot , will the 2.5 tdi engine bolt in , i would fit a 2.5 tdi gearbox but i dont have one , what do you guys think  :)

It´ll bolt, but gearing will not be the greatest for TDI.

well would the gear set from a 96 golf tdi 1z (02a box i think) fit the 2.5 gaser Caravelle box think the diff is bigger but this might not mater, this box may get me buy untill i can find a 2.5 tdi box  ;)

You're in the UK where stock 2.5s were sold  ;D consider yourself lucky!  Surely a 2nd hand proper gearbox can be sourced?

i am not going to buy this Caravelle to meney other problems , going to go for a t4 2.4d or a t4 2.5 tdi  ;)
