Title: Cracked Head Removing Injector Pics
Post by: kevinm on August 05, 2010, 05:18:21 pm
Has anyone had any success with a little weld on something like this? The crack does not run into the non-threaded diameter at the bottom.  This is a td head and will be seeing boost.

btw. that injector was a 5 day removal process and it still cracked.

That should be able to be tig welded and better than new. I have a guy that could do that easily with the head off the car.

I've got a couple heads I want your friend to see ;-)

if he can do it for less than I can buy a prothe core, then I'll be damn tempted.

He can weld better than me with his eyes closed. It will penatrate and the threads will need cleaned up, but yes he could weld that very easily.

Good news! I hope someone in the Vancouver area is just as skilled at welding ad your guy is.
