Title: Clunk front drivers side
Post by: shawnm on August 02, 2010, 03:28:28 pm
I've been chasing a noise in the front end of my 1995 Jetta. I replaced the rear control arm bushing, the front one is still tight, I put in a new strut mount bearing and replaced the broken coil spring.

Still I have the constant clunk\rattle while driving down relatively smooth roads. I know my brake pads are rattling some but I am chasing a different noise. I can almost feel the clunk in the floor.

What else could cause the noise?

sway bar bushings. they are right below your foot. also the rear bushing at the front table.

Turns out I had a strut die after only being 4 months old. Monroe sensa tracs had a lifetime warranty so I lucked out there.

caveman - I was convinced the sway bar was the issue so I went as far as removing it completely without any change.
