Title: Suspension MK2
Post by: Smokey Eddy on July 29, 2010, 02:45:59 pm
I replaced my struts, springs and all the rubber bushings so my suspension is "new" more or less. Just with short springs. I'm using nitrogen struts as well.

My rear struts protrude through the back  shelf... im just wondering how i fix that? why is it so high?

also, my front driverside strut sounds loose somehow. It rattles like crazy over bumps. The top of the strut looks higher on the driver side than the passenger side.

Anyone have any advice for me?

Something was missed when the struts were replaced. Most probably the special washer with the groove  that goes on the circlip just below the threaded part of the shock.

check that the strut bearings are tight. my cars rattle going over bumps when the bearings get loose, or were never tightened to begin with.
