PD mains are £84 a set
they are the same size, infact ive used a set in my 2.0 block, they feel perfect, can anyone see a reason why i should pay the extra to get the PD ones? 1Zs never suffer with mains, im about to thow my engine in and dont wana bother if sumone has a bad word to say about doing this

anyone?

If they mic the same thickness and have the same dimensions there is no reason you couldn't use them. They are a babit bearing that is just lead with backers. Maybe a little more than that, but as long as they are the correct size I don't see an issue. I can't tell you to run it if it is 2 different part #s though, just to be safe. If you have already done it in a similar engine though you should be fine.

No OEM uses lead for bearing material anymore. NO ONE. Most are some combination of aluminium/copper/tin/zinc/antimony.
Rich, you ALWAYS get what you pay for. 4-layer sputter bearings, high-tech stuff, mucho ££££££.
