I am putting my engine back together. Do I seal the oil squirters with anything when I slide them down inside the holes? I was going to use "Loctited red" for the screw, but what about the shaft itself of the jet coolers that slide down inside?
This is for a CY Turbo diesel engine

were they sealed before?

Thanks for the replies and answer. :)

I've used the red -copper RTV and it works as well. Just a note, if you're used to gasser vw running mostly at about 60 psi at highway speed, the oil squirters and turbo take a bit extra oil and drop pressure to about 35 to 40 depending on oil & temps. At idle about 7 - 10 psi. If there is no sealant between the squirters at normal engine temperature there is no oil pressure. I've had this happen in my younger years.

That's why the turbodiesels had broader oil pump gears?

What is this about? I just cleaned mine up and re-installed with locktite red...
did i forget something??? I didn't notice anything else in their composition.
