Okay so, it seems that on every time I drive for more than 3 hours the union between the injector hard line and the Giles pump starts leaking, badly. I have it replaced once after doing this and it drove fine for 4 hours. Then I replaced the injectors and had to remove the hard lines. Same thing on my recent trip last Saturday. Now, my wife doesn't trust the car but, it is probably me over torqueing the line. What is the torque spec on that union? Can anyone send NA Hardlines to Maryland by Friday? What am I doing wrong when I install them? Which union should be torqued or threaded first? HALP!
Thanks,
Steve

Even though you posted in totally the wrong section I'll answer anyways.
The torque spec for the hardline to IP is 18ft-lbs.
Are you sure it's that and not the little part that screws into the IP? iirc the bentley says 18ft-lbs or tighten 'til it quits leaking.

I had this problem a few years ago. I was sure that tightening the union any more was going to shear something off or destory threads. But, in the end, careful tightening did fix the leak. Start car, watch for leak, tighten union until you think you've got it. Turn off car, dry union with rag and brake clean. Start car and repeat until leak stops. I did this so many times and I was sure it was impossible to fix by tighetening but in the end we got it. (Thanks burn_your_money :-* )
If you destroy the threads I'm not responsible :o

Yeah sometimes you just need to loosen and tighten it a bunch of times until it seats where it seals. Did you have your pump rebuilt or a core off the shelf?
