so, i bought a resealed pump off a guy here on vwdiesel. i went to go install it on my TD vanagon. i had a running pump on it before, but it was an n/a pump. excited to put a turbo pump on, i put it on, set it all up, and used a mighty vac to pull fuel through the return line. i then pulled fuel thought he return lines on the injectors. after a bunch of cranking, i still am not getting fuel out of the cracked injectors. nothing. not a dribble, spit, or anything at all. i verified the solenoid was working and even swapped it for the one on my old pump which was running just a couple of hours previous. am i off base to think this pump is no good? i can't come to any other diagnosis! i've primed other pumps and always gotten fuel to the injectors. any other thoughts?

did you hold it at wide open throttle while trying to get the inj lines to prime? the fuel screw or idle speed screw might be set too low..

i did. i eventually put my original pump back on and it only took a couple of cranks to fire up. and i had drained it upon removal. i am pretty sure this new pump is faulty.

pretty sure?
i thought my TD pump was bad too. turned the fuel screw in about 3 turns, and messed with the idle till it ran. it was fine.
honestly tho, now that i have had 2 different engines, with the same turbo and boost levels, but with different pumps, i honestly like the n/a pump better than the TD pump with the LDA on top. it spools my turbo faster. i dont mind the small puff of grey when i crack the throttle open, because right after that puff of grey, the turbo is goin..
