Title: Coolant sensors for Diesel AAZ engine
Post by: Henchman on July 09, 2010, 03:36:48 pm
So I'm cleaning up the wiring in my 91 Passat wagon w/AAZ conversion (not done by me).  The existing fan/cooling control system was non functional.  I've decided to retrofit a diesel fan/cooling control system into the vehicle.

I started by replacing the fan with a larger diesel 2 speed fan, that also gave me the correct connector to use wiring that I have extracted from a 96 Jetta AAZ.  I also have a 93 Passat AAZ to pull from, which has a similar fan/cooling control system, but not exactly the same.  I have wiring diagrams from 91 passat gas, 93 passat diesel, 96 Jetta AAZ and Gas as well as some fan control module diagrams.

What I really need is info on the coolant sensors.  The one in the rad I have figured out.  The other 2 on the head manifold is what I need the pinouts for.  There is one on the top of the manifold, and one to the side.  Also, if someone knows the test procedure for the sensors and/or the fan control module that would be great.

Thanks,

Ian

Well...  Can someone at least identify which wire from which sensor is for the temp gauge so I can at get that hooked up?  GEE-BEE?
