Title: ARP main install
Post by: gnavs on July 08, 2010, 08:48:18 pm
So I've just finished hand threading my ARP mains into my AAZ block and have an issue.  When the cap is placed over the stud there isn't enough thread left protruding from the top to thread the nut onto.  I used the 204-5402 kit which I assumed was the right one, all of the old posts I searched confirmed this.  At this point I'm wondering if I can just back the studs out until I have enough meat to work with or if I need to look at other bolt options?

If I recall someone said that the aaz had 2 different lengths of main bolts. I could be wrong as I haven't ever actually seen an aaz, but I think it was around a 20mm difference.

found it
There is 2 different main bolts used in aaz. M10x65 same as 1,6 and newer M10x80. Also there is 2 different con rod bolts, M8x1x42 and M8x1x45. 45mm bolt centers the cap in rod.

I can get you 12.9 SHCS in m10x80 for a lot less than your ARP cost and you could sell the ARP online then and make a little cash back. Let me know.
