Title: 1.6 td pump question
Post by: Pob on July 07, 2010, 05:57:06 pm
Hi, not posted on here before but have been reading through the site over the last few months, it's great, the amount of information is superb.
I have a question I am hoping somebody can answer for me.
I have a 91 Passat with a SB code 1.6 td in it. and have got an old Land Rover TDI pump (200 I think) to play around with before I do any mods to the pump on the Passat.
My question is if any of the bits on the Land Rover TDI pump could be used to improve the performance of the Passat IDI pump, the LR pump does have a bigger metering head, can you swap it?

Thanks.

Yes you can swap it but if you don't do it right it can destroy the pump.

The 9mm head and rotor in the SB pump should be able to get you enough fuel for quite a bit of go.
