Title: waterpump nipple size??

anyone got a waterpump handy to measure the outside diameter of the cast fitting for the bypass hose. i got a ndew hose, and the one on the 86 golf diesel looks a little fatter, or its the wrong hose, than my new one. i didnt want to cut it off, then find out mine is too small in diameter.
