Hello all,I have a 01 Golf and it won't start. The injection pump won't pump fuel. There is fuel to it.If you remove the top cover and turn the piece that moves the metering sleeve it will pump fuel.So that tells me the pump itself will work.I just need to know if there is any diagnostic info so I can determine if it is the accuator on the top of the pump or it isn't receiving the correct signal from the car.Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Jim

You may an electrical failure. Jump the #109 relay under the dash [or is under that little plastic box near the firewall next to the coolant bottle]. They are known to fail.

A VCDS scan for codes is a good step as well if you can find someone that has it... often times the car has a pretty good idea what the problem is and is trying to tell us.

You can also check at the EGR /shutoff valve housing. Sometimes the vane sticks closed, instead of reopening once the engine stops.
