Title: adjusting a/c belt
Post by: dyoungen on June 05, 2010, 10:46:07 am
I have a 1985 VW Diesel Jetta. When I turn on the a/c the belt starts squeeling. I had no trouble adjusting the alternator belt when it squeeled but where is the a/c compressor adjustment? I have the thick VW manual but it doesn't show or tell where the adjustment is. Did I miss it or did they hide it?

the tensioner is under the alternator, u have to take it off to tighten the ac belt.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I did just what you said and have tightened the belt. Everything is running fine and the a/c is cooler without the squeeling belt.
