Title: misfire symptoms
Post by: spdrace11 on June 04, 2010, 03:41:22 pm
Well i know that a misfire is impossible in my 91 Jetta Diesel however the symptoms are the same.  When ever i first start it, or if the speed is constant, not accelerating, the car seems to misfire.  Any suggestions??

Not sure.  How do you test them?

Big chance it wil be a bad injector,my engine misfired at cold starts and sounded like a subaru, one injector had a very low opening pressure.
I miss the subaru sound though  :(

You need someone with a pop tester

I had my injectors tested recently and the guy who did them said they were good. I have a slight missfire when cold that i cant seem to figure out whats causing it. It feels almost like the car is surging...

Misfire when cold is a sign of poor compression, of one glow plug not working.
