..the dash light circuit is not fused!?
Had a damn wire hanging down for the lower dash in the 81, and it made contact with some ground... and up in flames it went! all the way back to the light switch! JESUS! what a thing to have happen going down the ROAD! Why isn't it fused!?!?!?
-
Sadly, these are the reasons im getting out of the mk1 game, and the other mk1 I do own currently has a CE2 wiring harness swap...
-
like it wasnt even a bare wire! just so happens the tiny piece of exposed connector at the light bulb, just HAD TO touch metal.. mannnn
-
your cars are trying to kill you. :P
-
If you use fuses you ain't livin'. Walk the razor's edge baby!
-
so I am not the only one that appriciates a nice fire less than a foot from the short and curlys :D At least I had some sheet metal between me and mine.
-
if you can't handle the simplicity of a mk1, I suggest an emkay iv or more recent. that wire wasn't made like that, and is exactly why you can't complain about something going wrong on a car that had 10 plus owners in its time.......in over two decades. ;D its not the mk1's fault.......operator failure ::)
