Title: Headgasket problem.
Post by: dash cunning on May 25, 2010, 04:03:23 pm
I ordered a new gasket from autohausaz and it seems to be missing some cooling holes in it. am i correct in assuming this from the pics below? i've read that it's kinda normal for some gaskets to come without the holes but i can't find any info on if i should drill the holes out. can i just drill some holes there or are they not there for a reason, the head has the same holes in it. thanks guys. The area i'm talkin about is to the left and right of the big water passage.

its out of an 81. 11mm head. i just sold my inari rabbit and got a truck that has 12mm headbolts with low compression in one cylinder, so i'm hoping it's just a head gasket and i can throw my turbo setup on it and save this motor for when the other one goes. i'm gonna be towing a light boat with it so hopefully all will be well.
