Just a fealer really. Car is my DD and runs perfect so I'm in no hurry to sell unless the right buyer comes along.
The Good:
-It's a black MKIII golf converted to syncro with a 91 passat 5 speed gearbox and rear susp.
-Engine is an ALH with a T2 and an Mtdi built to Tintin's specs, large FMIC and 2 1/2" exhaust with one muffler. Pulls way harder than My 2000 jetta tdi and the power is instant.
-Suspension is stock MKIII springs with HD passat gas shocks in extended struts(3"). Subframes spaced 1 1/2" down to maintain susp./axel angles. Has a full 9" ground clearance.
-Twin welded 18 ga. fuel tanks fitted under the rear seats. Uses original trunk floor, chassis was not cut at all.
-Running on 15" passat estorils with 205-75-15 mud and snows (+1"). Turns 2450 at 100 km/h.
-Car starts all winter without plugging in, and at -5°c with out glowplugs.
-Tows up to 1500 lbs without noticing
-still drives like a golf - solid and tight, but never gets stuck. (unless you reeeeally try hard)
The Bad:
-The paint is poor
-One rear bearing should be replaced
-Tach needs a signal to work (planned on connecting the crank sensor but never got to it)
-front seats are GTI but rears are stock (have gti rears, never got to installing them)
-really needs a good wash ;)
I would like to get $3500ish as is, may want more if I paint it.
Pics available on request for serious inquires.

PS: Forgot to add - G60 flywheel with vr6 clutch.
Pics to follow.

Not a serious inquiry but I would like pictures :)
If it was a MK2 there is a good chance I'd be doing something stupid right now
-
If anyone is curious why, the funds will go to building a TDI pickup (toyota 4x4) which wil help with the skidoo's and other toys the kids are getting into.

I'm interested in pics. Is there any way to get this thing in the states? Either way, I would love to see some pics for inspiration. [email protected] Thanks!

So here goes with some pics. This was all I could grab before the camera bats went flat.

awesome car I love it

That thing is awesome. What year is it registered as? I'm afraid its too new to get into the states. Otherwise I would be all over it.

Makes me sick to see something so awesome selling for over a thousand less than what I have in rebuilding my AAZ. Good luck with the sale, Id live to rock that

Why would you want to sell it? I think this would be most people's dream project.

Hi All,
http://img691.imageshack.us/i/img0055yb.jpg/ (http://img691.imageshack.us/i/img0055yb.jpg/)
More images have been added to the album, ie: engine, suspension lift, intercooler, ground clearance, and the all important full size trunk - no intrusions for fuel tanks and spare tires here. The tanks are under the back seat and the trunk floor is just as it left the factory (with one small dent) and still contains the spare and jack. (although it now carrys a sissors jack as the stock jack fainted at the thought of lifting so high)
Why am i selling? there is no reason in perticular. The car is still lots of fun to drive both on and off road. I love drifting in the snow/gravel, and happily going places no car has any right to go (fits down four wheeler trails just fine). It fits five 100lb bags of feed in the trunk. It pulls the trailer or other vehicles without a fuss. It gets 5 l/1ookm in normal combined driving, and will drive away from my wifes TDI, with the instant power that you get from a mechanical pump.
What it won't do is carry a skidoo or four wheeler. It won't carry a facecord of firewood. It won't go where My buddies jeep with 37's will. And it dosen't break, so there's nothing to do on it.
The long and short of it is this car does such a good job of doing everything that now I want more. I guess I'm bored and like to build things. I have convinced myself I should have a truck. I'm spoiled really - I'll probably miss being able to dart in and out of traffic whenever I do get a truck, and lament the increased fuel consumption to 6 or 7l/100km. (um-yes the truck will be a TDI)
Either way time will tell,
Ryan
