Title: K24 turbo
Post by: jackbombay on December 05, 2005, 12:10:16 am
There is virtually no shaft play, but the shaft does have some drag on it, from what I don't know. PM ofers or reply here. It is from an Audi TD so it has a non trapezoidal flange.

Is this fairly worthless as it is from an Audi? What about the gap between the compressor wheel and housing, is this toast anyway? Should I just put on the curb with my recycling?

The compressor wheel is toast and needs to replaced. The cost of the wheel and a proper rebuild make this item hardly worth anything. Sorry I am not trying to *** on your thread or anything, its just how it is.

I appreciate the honesty, and though that was likely the case anyway.

How does the oil drain connect to the engine? Does it thread onto a fitting in the pan like the 1.6TD? If so, I'm looking for that fitting so I can fab a different return line without cutting up the good one that's on my car.

No, it is a flat flange with 2 bolts to fasten it.

I haven't gotten any offers yet *hint hint*, and would rather not put it on the curb with the metal recycling when it comes time to move in 2 weeks...
