Title: vacuum pump replacement how to? Oil pump replacement as well!
Post by: fck on May 13, 2010, 09:04:59 am
I'm new to this
i'll also be replacing my oil pump, if i can find a new one.
vac line to the brake booster as well, just to be sure.
what is the inner diameter on the vac pump to brake line? i do not have an accurate caliper to measure.

what do i need to be wary of, and will I need special tools?
or is it a simple in/out?

also,
on the oil pickup tube, there is a plastic "star wars space fighter" lookin' piece.
is that necessary? mine broke into many pieces when i went to put it on a new pickup tube.
thoughts?

ok, so make sure you get the right oil pump for your vacuum pump. there are different shaft lengths. if you get too short of an oil pump, you will fire your car up to shortly find out that the oil pump wasnt turning.
