Search for "prothe" here and on the interwebs and you'll get tons of hits from which to form your own impressions.

/thread.   ;)

I have a set of those injectors...

One of them leaked right off the bat.  I also had some injector knock.  I ran 'em for about 6 weeks before deciding to just put new BOSCH nozzles in my OEM injectors.

the OEM heat shields I bought last winter are all black. These look like they are zinc-chromate. That coating is high end for industrial machine part corrosion proofing for indoor machines in normal conditions, but does not do so well in wet or outdoor conditions like under your hood.

IMHO.

I just added to my new 1.9L hydro head from him a set of 4 new injectors with mercedes nozzles - also 155 bar. I sure hope they don't have the problems. Maybe when they get here, I should drop them off with a diesel shop who can verify their operation. A couple on this list have such services.... I should search for them and ask how much :-)

Dash - If i were you, or if I were anyone, I would definitely spend the extra $30-40 and buy reman'd Bosch. Or have a set of NA rebuilt to TD specs by a competent diesel shop.

Reman'd Bosch are 35-40 each.
Autohaus AZ and eGerman would give free shipping on a set of Injectors.

$36ea plus $11 core not too bad IMHO. Orders over $50 ship free.
