Post by: mr.bbs on May 08, 2010, 07:31:32 am
Any additional parts I will be needing besides downpipe?  I have the engine, is it worth the swap fellers?

thanks a million

Do you have the engine from the '79 too?
I think you'll need an injection pump mounting bracket from a 1.6 engine,.. so it will match up to your alternator bracket.

You will need the injector pump bracket off your NA as it has the engine mount attached to it.  The mk2 set-up's IP bracket is different.

I removed all power steering pieces on my swap. Also i changes some of the coolant flanges and kept the early ones.

Yes, its a running 1.5 NA so I have all the pieces.  Thanks for the tips guys.  I think its worth changing out those cheap plastic coolant flange outlets too, I've seen alot of those mkII/III ones fail.  :-[

Fuel filter relocate and airbox, both no-brainers.
