Title: How to test pump off the car?

Is there any way to test the functionality of an IP off the car?
The one in question spins freely and stops on the lands. I would jlike to know before I put it on the car....

put it in a vise, fill it with diesel or atf, hook up a battery to the main body and the electric fuel shut off to turn it on, hook up your injector lines and injectors, put a quart jar with diesel and put your in and out of the injection pump in the jar, then turn the pump with a drill and push on the throttle and see if you get the injectors to spray, you might have to bleed the injector lines

Wow, no kidding? Will this help to diagnose if it leaks too?

its what i have always done before to test them before i put it on the car, so far so good i have only done it to like 2 of them though, and you should be able to detect leaks from it since you will be building pressure in the pump
