Title: 1986 VW Golf Diesel nonturbo

I NEED HELLLLLP !!! I have a1986 vw diesel nonturbo Golf ,And I repleace Head GTK ,now I have power but its raise idle or sometime eratic idle Nothing else have been toch...Badtimig? I lve this car specialy when i drive about 450 miles per week ,THANKS John

It could be a lot of thing. Air in the fuel, a piece of junk sticking an injector, timing etc

How many mm of advance did you set the pump timing to?

Did you remove the injectors from the head?

Did you check the head for straightness?

I just repleace Head Gtk,repl Water pump,and Tbelt,I was try to keep the same seting b4 repl.No adj has don on Fuelpump,Better get real mechanic to look at,?not me,i sure thanks  John

Yup, a trip to a mechanic with the right timing tools is probably a good step... if you're replaced the headgasket there's a very very good chance the timing has changed.
