Title: frame measurements
Post by: gribur on April 17, 2010, 01:39:25 pm
i have a 94 golf and the frame rail where the fender attaches was hit and bent, i can move it back to where it should be but was wondering if anyone has the measurements for the mk3 golf frame so i can be sure it is lined up properly.
thanks guys

the fender doesnt really attach to the frame rail?? it attaches to the core support and inner fender tho. and those pieces arent super crucial to be perfect. pretty much if everything lines up correctly and aligns right, then you are good to go. is it right behind the headlight/turn signal area?

its the rail that comes out from the base of the windshield and goes up towards the headlight.  the outer fender bolts to it.  it is warped and bent, and most oof it is about a foot behind headlight, where the upper rad support bolts into it.

the measurements are: line everything up til it fits.

I'll measure an MK3 this week as soon as I go to the shop. PM with all the measurements you need.
