I bought an 84 jetta turbo diesel awhile back. It had 148k on it and had just had the timing belt done. I drove it for a few months and it began losing oil pressure. With a little research on this site I discovered that it was probably the IM bearings and that the timing belt had been over tightened causing them to fail.
About a week after finding this the injection pump began to leak, insult to injury.
I have never really done that much work on these older vw engines and dont really want to mess anything up. I also need to get this cat back on the road again, if anything to sell it running.
I already bought a new oil pump, im bearings (clevete I think), and a bosch reseal kit for the Ip. I also have a benetly manual as well.
I was just curious if there was anyone in Florida that had experience in these matters and if they would be willing to lend a hand with the work. I generally do all my own work(kinda have to when trying to keep an old ford on the road).
Thanks
Billy
