Title: Callaway Turbo
Post by: stomperz71 on April 13, 2010, 04:00:03 pm: Did they make a turbo set up for the VW Diesel? I have one here that the guy said would bolt right up to a 1.6 diesel. Only one I'v heard of was for the VW gasser! Any thought on this. Looking to maybe sell it.

Yup, the turbo itself is probably setup different but IFAIK it'll still bolt up.

Yup, the turbo itself is probably setup different but IFAIK it'll still bolt up.

Big problem is gassers spin a lot faster than diesels do - a gasser turbo sized for a 1.6L would most likely be set up to spool around 4K RPM worth of exhaust gasses. By that point on a diesel you're already in to the governor. Really you want something that's sized to be spooling by 2K RPM.

Not sure?? Been searching but haven't found much if any info on this kit. I know I should post this in the for sale section. Soon as i get a price I'll do that. Its got to be worth around $700, right????
