Who is the last person on the forum to have heard back directly from them?
I ordered a clutch kit from them and so did someone else on the forum and they haven't heard back from them in over a month.
Anyone heard from them recently?
their news page (http://www.bildon.com/catalog/about/BildonNews.cfm) hasn't been updated since 2008. FRICK. How can their site still run and accept money if no one is running it?
at the bottom of the page there is that "c" symbol and 2010 beside it... doesn't that mean they have a business licence that expires in 2010, inclusive?
-
oooh, I really hope this doesn't bite ya in the butt buddy :(
Looks like a good website too, will they not answer calls either?
-
strange, when I ordered my clutch from them(shortly after the new year) it came in less than a week, and I was charged much less for shipping than it actually cost them.
I really hope everything works out for you guys...

I'm worried about the australian bloke who made an order a month ago, is out $500 AUS, and has YET to hear from them...
-
I just gave them a call...
ring... ring... ring... ring... ring... ring... ring... ring... ring... ring... ring... ring... ring... ring... ring...
-
well crap, now I feel like a jerk for suggesting them.
it is weird though, because I had no issues at all...
I hope that you can figure it out, even if that means canceling payment from your credit card.

I'm not a lawyer but I think that means copyright 2010 meaning the content was created in 2010 having nothing to do with their business license.

I would take your word over my own no matter how hesitant you were. I had no idea what "copyright" really means anyways. thanks.
So on a plus side that means the site has been updated in 2010 at some point...

How long do you think i should wait?
I definitely do NOT want to wait a month like gldgti has.
This thread is as much for gldgti as it is for me.
-
mine took about a week to get to me, and they sent me an email telling me when it shipped too.
I would send them an email now, and if they don't respond to the email in five business days I would call your CC company.

i emailed them yesterday. We'll see. It hasn't been 72 hours yet which is how long they claim to respond in.
it just bothers me how ... dead the website is but if you dealt with them early 2010 or dec of 2009 im not too worried.
and that gldgti hasn't heard from them in a MONTH

Not that it helps this issue, but there's a really good clutch shop in Burlington Ontario called Euro-drive Clutches. Owned and ran by an old German guy. I've been going there for over 15 yrs now.

They do it all. Uprating pressure plates, lightening flywheels, kevlar or ceramic or copper, or sintered iron linings... you name it. Not ultra cheap, but great work at a reasonable price.
As an example, I just had a 200mm diesel clutch done with new disc, lightened flywheel and stage 1 pressure plate upgrade for $335 tax included.
-
yeah, there is a shop here locally that will do clutches.
they specialize in industrial clutches, but will do work on automotive ones too.
the only reason I went with the bildon one was that I was broke and needed something quick and cheap that would hold lots of power.
and I got just that.
hopefully it was an honest mistake on their part and they fix it.

thats less than what i paid Bildon for the pressure plate & clutch disk.

They never sent me the shipping info email or a reply to my email asking them what was up and that was 9 days ago. I'm on the phone with Visa right now. Apparently, they legally have 30 days to get the merch to my door and if that never happens Visa will deal with them for me.
-
so its definitive they are not a company anymore?
-
not sure I would say that, they are having some issues surely.
I will watch this closely, as I would like to make some purchases in the fall.
they have some really good products at great prices, hopefully it all works out, and they make everyone happy.

From a communication point of view no. They can not be contacted. Visa used their "sources" and they said they couldn't find a different phone number other than what was listed and it was no longer in service. That number is also tied to their address so maybe they went out of business or they don't know how to maintain/run a business.
Their emailing system keeps their email address private so you can't look at what email service they use or used.
I'm with you Owen. I'm really hopeful that like 2 weeks from now, or sooner, i hear from them but still - what kind of poor business is that?
If that is the case they could at least update their website to say they take 3-4 weeks to reply not 72 hours. And that their phone number doesn't work...
It's just odd to run a company like that and not have any kind of phone line or business hours.

Finally heard from Bildon.
The last clutch order was shipped to us on the 13th.
Should be shipping out clutches any day now.

Good to hear. Not sure what is going on with them. Bill is a stand-up guy, they have always replied quickly to any questions I have asked them.
They are probably gearing up for racing season, I think they were forced to downsize some so I imagine when they are doing a track event they could be away from the shop for a few days. They also moved their shop not too long ago I think.
Not making excuses for them, communication is key with any internet-based business but I would find it really unusual for this to be normal from Bildon.
I hope everyone else gets their stuff that they ordered.

Bildon still hasn't given me any kind of shipping information and if I still don't have what I paid for by the 18th of May I'm still going to withdraw my transaction from them and contact Euro-drive Clutches in Ontario - Dr. Diesel's recomendation.
Bildon can't expect to keep customers if they take their money and don't talk to them or ship the items the customer paid for for several weeks with no notice what so ever.
-
Got an email last night from Bildon. Item shipped be here May 10th. It only took and entire month and a threat from Visa.
They must be having some issues with business.
-
Just in time for replacement :D
-
Hey yeah hahahha look at that.
