Title: IP timing tool kits on ebay, etc...
Post by: 79rabbit4dr on March 29, 2010, 04:38:17 pm
When I owned my last diesel rabbit I bought the tool kit from the guy in germany, great quality, fit perfect, but $20 for shipping ate up a lot of money,

looking at getting something like this so I can work on the newer ones if/when I get one. Thoughts? Anyone bought one of these before? Quality?

or should I just stick with the trusted german guy basic kit?

The pump pin is handy, but the only thing you need to buy is the dial indicator adapter.
the fancy gauge doesn't have a late model cam lock anyway.  Not that you need it, I made mine in 15 minutes with an angle grinder.

When I was looking recently I was choosing between the Prothe set and that German set. Because of Prothe's questionable quality I was going to go with the German set...

Then I got a good deal on a Tach-n-time....
