Title: 1z Heeeeeeelp........
Post by: Jimmy Oldskool on March 28, 2010, 02:52:13 am
Hi guys!

I've just got hold of a 1z to put in my '86 Mk2 Golf van and was wondering if there is a way of getting rid of all the electrickery, DBW throttle, ecu controlled pump etc and running a mechanical pump for ease of installation and tuning....?

Also, what's the best way of tuning these???

If I have to stick with the 1z pump, loom etc.....I'm assuming a tuning box is the best way to get easy power and if I go the mechanical route, the tuning of fuelling, boost etc should be very similar to my current SB, right???

I'd be aiming for between 150/200bhp???  ;D

Cheers

Hi there jimmy a 200 or 300 disco mechanical pump will work on the 1z with a moded pump bracket , just have a search there is a bit of info about it hear , you will need a biger turbo and biger injector nozzles and a good clutch for 150 and up
