Title: TD Inj. Pump?

Can anyone tell me if this pump is a true TD pump?

Sorry but I haven't the resource to find out.

VW#         068 130 109 (Q?)

Bosch#      046 049 4135

Should be a Quantum Pump...I think.

It looks like 068 130 109 Q to me.

Somewere in the FAQ is a thread about IP part numbers.

EDIT: I just found a big list of IP's and your's wasn't there, post a pic of the whole thing that might help.....or someone else might know by the PN what it is.

Searched in FAQ for info--

I was able to find the pump on the bosch catalog (http://ecat-online.bosch.de/toc/frame1.html (http://ecat-online.bosch.de/toc/frame1.html)) but it didn't give me any info on what the specific application was. Did get this info though:

068-130-109Q = 0-460-494-135 =

VE4/9F2250R134-2

where...

V: Distributor injection pump
E: Axial piston high pressure pump or R: radial piston high pressure pump
2-6: Number of high pressure outlets
8-12: Pump plunger diameter in mm.
F: Mechanical governor or E: Electric actuator mechanism or M: high pressure solenoid valve.
2400: Upper pump nominal speed (half of engine rpm)
L: Counter clockwise or R: Clockwise (view toward pump drive)
12: Type code.


The Chinese Site (http://www.vepump.cn/CZB.htm (http://www.vepump.cn/CZB.htm)) matched up the VW number to an engine code of SB...

CZ-B.494 267     0 460 494 267     068130110Q     VE4/9F2250R328-5     VW     SB

from what I read elsewhere in the forum SB is a GTD engine. This sounds unlikely since all indication is the pump came from an VW imported into USA.

So although I am further along the path I am afraid I still am not sure...

Can anyone else help me with this?

If it's got the LDA it's a td pump, plus the clue to the SB says it's a td pump someone easily could've ordered it from over seas, you know ebay and such.

Just had that exact pump rebuilt at Bosch shop. During discussion, he reminded me that I should check the Bentley for timing as the pump came off a 1985/86  TD Quantum.

Did he mention anything else about the pump? Any unique features or performance that this one has vs. standard jetta TD pump?
