Title: Exhaust idea's

Just wanted any info at all on a good exhaust set up. I know the bigger the better, but what is the best muffler for the money as well as free flowing?  Not sure if flowmaster makes a muffler for this application they are mainly truck diesels and gassers.  Any help would be great. I also have a resonator (I think) up by the down pipe on mine.  Or could it be a cat?  Can this be removed? Think they really check diesels in small towns or should I keep it on.
